13th Planet Studios

Welcome to 13th Planet Studios - home to Ministry Founder Al Jourgensen and the artist family of 13th Planet Records - Ministry, RevCo, Prong, False Icons, Ascension Of The Watchers. 13th Planet Studios is a 3,500 square foot world class studio facility with a digital/analog Control/Mix Room housing a 72-channel SSL console, commissioned by Boston's pre-eminent SSL certified Pro Audio Design. Mix Room gear embraces both state of the art digital outboard gear and software, including ProTools, as well as old school vintage outboard gear (for analog aficionados). A 2,000 square foot Live Room doubles for recording live sound and also as a Rehearsal Space, featuring a wide array of stacks and racks courtesy of St. Louis Music/Ampeg/Crate.

Of special note in the Live Room is the hand-laid solid brick eastern wall and cathedral pitched ceiling. Acoustics are customized to each artist's specific preference for live sound recording.

Construction of the studio facilities commenced in February 2009 and was completed June 1st, 2009. The studios were designed and built by Max Goldfein of Artistic Improvements, with acoustic and design consultation by Dave Donnelly of DNA Mastering, Acoustic Esthetician Bob Carlson, Engineer John Bilberry and Tony Rancich of Sonic Ranch. Interior and exterior design of the entire compound was conducted by Southwest artisans Escalante Bros.

The facility sits on the idyllic country desert two-acre 13th Planet Compound five miles from the Rio Grande river, hosts a swimming pool, exercise room and six courtyards, with band housing to accommodate up to five musicians, as well as a separate free-standing Producer's Suite.

13th Planet Studios was designed and created by artists for artists producing the culminating effect of a mini-paradiso, a sanctuary for the artistic soul.
